I've been doing emotional remixes of Pop Punk since 2010, and I just recently learned that in Russia, Emotional Hardcore and Emos as such are banned, jailed and outcasted. In Iran, over 30-40 Emos (I think more possibly) were abducted, merely for having 'fringe' hair. In china and many asian countries, they call them Poke'monsters or something for their spiked hair, they are basically not allowed to be theirselves.
this is insufferable.
I think that emo, Pop Punk, etc.
has done more for the care of the marginalized through cathartic emotional expression than any other sub-genre of rock & roll and continues to do so for the rest of Rock's herstory.
There are so many issues to address,
but fasting, body mutilation, tattooing and mosh pits are our rights as Americans, and every lover of the Pop Punk Scene in the Entire Goth Worldhood of the World.
Scene is scene.
But one thing will never change,
The importance of tragedy as the influence in the genesis of music.
We see these tragedies,
and as 'scene' or Pop Punk fans,
we find this type of oppression of rock & roll fandom absolutely abhorrent. It gets really really dark,
and the cutting thing, I think many- including myself -have experimented with it.
It's essentially a vessel for letting off a little angst,
but as this war rages,
we always must remember,
the roots of Pop Punk.
Why the war on Emo?
Is it b/c of the mental health discussion we're having as a culture, where instead of using the criminal justice system to prosecute people who break the letter of the law,
we lock up Emos merely for cutting and "terroristic threats"?
Back in the day, pre-'99, you didn't get written up & cuffs slapped on you for being reported (through hearsay) as being suicidal or homicidal... I mean, what does this mean for our collective belief? You won't see me turning in somebody for being a danger to themselves or others! What does this kind of informant rat-like mentality mean for individuality? Find fault in me, and I'll admit it.
But we are NOT corrupting the youth.
After 10 years of putting out my original compositions of dark noise-genre oriented EMO REMIXES,
I have never once done anything apart from being down by law. My self interest precedes the darkness that lies in their beliefs. They even had a national "Punch an Emo Day".
The spirit AND the letter of the Law have gone out the window,
and the War on Emo continues,
as many Emos languish in Psychiatric facilities at this very hour. I guess these sissy heavy metalers with their pussy hair bands are so sociopathic they can escape acting out and getting crucified. Danzig wouldn't agree with them, however.
After Glenn Danzig, The Misfits vocalist/musician extraordinaire came on Fox News (He famously recorded all his 80's stuff on Fox's music studio label) and blasphemed the black icy glove of Obama and his wicked administration as a "Horror Show", his opine' was summarily censored. You cannot, no matter how hard you look, find evidence that Punk's traditionalist founder (other than Ramones), The Misfits' Glenn Danzig, is now a dyed in the wool Right-Wing Repub.
Further, if you Wiki search the misfits, it's corporate funded write up says that they are -and I quote- "Kitsch". That doesn't mean ironic, iconic and cool.
That means, in their NWO globalist slang terminology, uneducated.
