In the spirit of good cheer, I'd like to speak about the above flyer, without neo-politiks.
This above Event that I helped promote, throw and then DJ'd at was a glorious moment of my youth. When you promote/throw events, there are a lot of curveballs thrown at you, and sometimes you don't succeed and you have to face your humiliation in front of a ghost town in the venue. This show popped well, partly because it was during Drum and Bass's heyday, partly because Seba and Paradox are well known Drum and Bass acts, and partly b/c Mr. Dev Paradox wasn't just doing a vinyl DJ set, but in fact an entire live set, with synths and samplers on stage - All I'll give away about this party/club night is I'll always remember looking out over the crowd who had assembled around primetime in the dancehall, and - tbh - they weren't ravers!!! They were relatively normal looking slightly nerdy/dorky/balding drumfunk aficianodo's. Just regular folks, who like mashed up breakbeats!
...and Paradox gave my SOUNDSYSTEM 'METH' pre release dubs that I played later in G Dot.
No ecstacy puddles at this little event!
Just good times, with good music and good friends!
