PUMC RADICAL HERE: "Here's My Belief System 'Church I Was Baptised Into' 4 Transparency"

I.H.S.

Jesus prays for you!!!! ~

Christ’s church in every place suffers with them. We grieve for the lives lost and we hold their families
in our hearts. We question how such tragedy could happen in church and we can’t
help but wonder what this means for our own church family.

As the Body of Christ at
PUMC,
we join our hearts in prayer
for the community of Sutherland Springs. We pray for the peace of Christ to comfort them in their loss and for the strength ofdid I tell you we are all waiting on this black summer to be over but I tell you friend that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris can I get a vote, we don't support communism? Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are going to get us through this goddamn f****** playing f****** Robo Borgia I swear to Christ

God’s Spirit to be with them each day.

We also join together in discerning how we are called to respond as people of faith in the face of violence. Our Board of Trustees, who are entrusted with the maintenance and well-being of our church property, are prayerfully considering the safety of our church grounds so that we continue to
be
 safe

 for all of God’s children.

In times like this, we proclaim our faith in God who is with us always, even in the valley of the shadow of death. We trust in the One who continually told his disciples, “Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” We remember that we belong to the Lord who is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. More than anything, we hope in the grace of Christ that conquered the grave, because the Light shines in the darkness and the darkness cannot overcome it.

This coming Sunday we are celebrating All Saints’ Day in each of our worship services. It is the one Sunday a year when we remember and give thanks for the saints in our lives and the saints who have gone before us. On All Saints’ Day, we celebrate that we share in the gift of eternal life with all of God’s saints, including the 26 faithful saints of FBC Sutherland Springs. As I write these words to you today, I have just watched a news report declaring that even in the face of tragedy, the members of FBC Sutherland Springs are gathering for worship this Sunday, too, with doors opened wide to the community. So let us gather on Sunday in the same spirit of faith and hope, offering our praise to the One who calls us to worship Him.

Grace and Peace,
Sara Beth
