Memorial Day Poem for our Troops

IT may seem
sometimes a bit
that easiest path
is to get up and quit
but there are those who tread
fast, true and mighty
and those who don't take honor
even a little lightly
for there are men
and women too
who stand strong together
the only chosen few
Those who come home
can see much too clearly
that we must always struggle
to be more nearly
close to our god, the one
absolute
and live in the memories
the ashes and soot
And in all Truth
one can never see
what our troops in battle
hold true and heartily
all one can say
to those who have left
that go and trod
in the valley of death
know more than you
know more than me
they know much more
than one with a PHD

They know the real truth,
of the blood of the lamb,
To kill and not kill
the Faith of Abraham
